Not allowing exporting as Gadgets
Published on March 5, 2006 By DigitalCHET In DesktopX
Hi. I'm just getting slowly back into object/widget/gadget making and I've come into a bit of a problem.
I'm trying to export an Object I've completed as a Gadget so that I can distribute it but DXPro is telling me that I need DXPro when I pick the Export as Gadget option (!). What gives?
I purchased DXPro last August and my subscription is still current.

Any ideas?

A year ago DXPro was the version that costs $499. The version you have is most likely the version that will only allow WIDGETS to be exported. Which is DX Standard.
Gadgets are .exe files that anyone can run
Widgets are .exe files that requires DX to be installed to run.

The Pro Version is now only $69

Email kwilas@stardock.com the gadget and a directory listing from the DX dir.

I purchased DX Pro ($69) version last August along with ObjectDesktop. I believe DXPro was discounted at the time and thus was cheaper.
I've been around Stardock & Wincustomize for a long time ( with all due respect, not as long as some *wink*, *wink* JAFO ), so I know the history of DesktopX Standard & Pro and know what I intended to purchase. Not to mention the email sent by Stardock referred to DesktopX Pro 3.0.

Thanks for the help Phoon, I'll email Kris to try to figure out what's gone wrong.

Yeah, a simple uninstall, then reinstall along with verification of the correct serials in SDC fixed this problem.
